Laylatul Qadr: Making Du'a in the last 10 nights of Ramadan

Hadith on Laylatul Qadr

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) used to observe I`tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan and say, "Seek Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree) in the odd nights out of the last ten nights of Ramadan.'' [Al-Bukhari]

This Hadith states that Laylatul Qadr can occur in any of the five odd nights - 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th - of the last ten nights of Ramadan. Its exact date has not been revealed for the reason that people keep themselves awake for prayer for a larger number of nights. Had its date been fixed, people would have kept awake for prayer only on that night.

الحمد للہ:

رمضان المبارك ميں قيام الليل كى فضيلت:

ابو ہريرہ رضى اللہ تعالى عنہ بيان كرتے ہيں كہ رسول كريم صلى اللہ عليہ وسلم قيام رمضان كى رغبت دلايا كرتے، ليكن انہيں عزيمت كے ساتھ حكم نہ ديتے، پھر فرماتے:

" جس نے بھى رمضان المبارك ميں ايمان اور اجروثواب كى بنا پر قيام كيا اس كے پچھلے تمام گناہ معاف بخش ديے جاتے ہيں "

تو رسول كريم صلى اللہ عليہ وسلم فوت ہوئے تو معاملہ اسى طرح تھا ( يعنى تراويح باجماعت ادا نہيں كى جاتى تھيں ) پھر ابو بكر رضى اللہ تعالى عنہ كى خلافت اور عمر رضى اللہ تعالى عنہ كے ابتدائى دور ميں بھى معاملہ اسى طرح رہا "

اور عمرو بن مرۃ الجھنى رضى اللہ تعالى عنہ بيان كرتے ہيں كہ رسول كريم صلى اللہ عليہ وسلم كے پاس قضاعۃ قبيلے كا ايك آدمى آيا اور عرض كرنے لگا: اے اللہ تعالى كے رسول صلى اللہ عليہ وسلم آپ يہ بتائيں كہ اگر ميں يہ گواہى دوں كہ اللہ تعالى كے علاوہ كوئى معبود برحق نہيں، اور آپ اللہ تعالى كے رسول ہيں، اور پانچ نمازيں ادا كروں، اور ماہ رمضان كے روزے ركھوں، اور رمضان كا قيام كروں، اور زكاۃ ادا كروں تو ؟

رسول كريم صلى اللہ عليہ وسلم نے فرمايا:

" جو شخص بھى اس پر فوت ہوا تو وہ صديقين اور شھداء ميں سے ہے "

ليلۃ القدر اور اس كى تحديد:

2 - رمضان المبارك كى راتوں ميں افضل ترين رات ليلۃ القدر ہے، كيونكہ رسول كريم صلى اللہ عليہ وسلم كا فرمان ہے:

" جس نے بھى ليلۃ القدر كا ايمان اور اجروثواب كے ساتھ ( اور پھر اسے وہ مل بھى گئى ) ليلۃ القدر كا قيام كيا تو اس كے پچھلے سب گناہ بخش ديے جاتے ہيں "

What is the virtues of Qiyaam (prayer at night) during Ramadaan ?

Praise be to Allaah.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to encourage us to pray at night in Ramadaan, without making it obligatory. Then he said, ‘Whoever prays at night in Ramadaan out of faith and the hope of reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven.’ When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died, this is how things were (i.e., Taraaweeh was not prayed in congregation), and this is how they remained during the khilaafah of Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him), until the beginning of the khilaafah of ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him).”

How can we prepare for the arrival of Ramadaan?

Firstly: 

You have done well to ask this question, because you have asked how to prepare for the month of Ramadaan. Many people misunderstand the true nature of fasting, and they make it an occasion for eating and drinking, making special sweets and staying up late at night and watching shows on satellite TV. They make preparations for that long before Ramadaan, lest they miss out on some food or prices go up. They prepare by buying food, preparing drinks and looking at the satellite TV guide so they can choose which shows to follow and which to ignore. They are truly unaware of the real nature of fasting in Ramadaan; they take worship and piety out of the month and make it just for their bellies and their eyes.

روزہ کی نیت

عن عُمَرَ بْنَ الخَطَّابِ رَضِیَ اللَّہُ عَنْہُ قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّہِ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَسَلَّمَ یَقُول: ِانَّمَا الأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّیَّاتِ(بخاری حدیث نمبر ا)۔

صحابی رسول عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا 

آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرما رہے تھے کہ تمام اعمال کا دارومدار نیت پر ہے۔

اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوا کہ ہرعمل کے لئے نیت ضروری ہے بغیر نیت کے کوئی بھی عمل قابل قبول نہیں ہے ، روزہ بھی 

ایک عمل ہے لہٰذا اس کے لئے بھی نیت ضروری ہے،لہٰذا روزہ کی نیت سے متعلق
